Every Year, Planet Advocate Has a New G.I.G.

G.I.G. stands for Global Impact Goal, and this year Planet Advocate’s G.I.G. is to make a substantial difference in ocean pollution. Throughout Planet Advocate’s 2025-2026 Pilot Program, Planet Advocate clubs will be fundraising, volunteering, and coming together to clean our oceans.

Ocean pollution is a silent killer, destroying marine life and endangering our own health. Microplastics—tiny fragments of plastic waste—are now found in nearly every layer of the ocean, infiltrating the food chain from the smallest fish to the seafood on our plates. Ocean species are suffering from toxic exposure, habitat loss, and ingestion of harmful debris. What affects the ocean ultimately affects us all, as these pollutants make their way into our bodies and ecosystems, increasing risk of cancer and other chronic diseases. This is why Planet Advocate has chosen Ocean Pollution as the focus of our 2025-2026 Pilot Program, the cause is urgent, and we must take action to address it.
