THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL IS THE FACE OF PLANET ADVOCATE
WHAT IS THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL?
Planet Advocate is completely student led. It is organized by the Planet Advocate Executive Council, which is appointed yearly based on application by the current Executive Director, Director of Finance, and Director of Impact. The Planet Advocate Executive Council determines the yearly Global Impact Goal, works with outside organizations, manages and appoints the Regional Directors, and plans multi-regional events.
Positions
Executive Director - Leads the council, speaks at multi-regional events, and presents as the face of the organization. Currently held by Samantha Komrowski.
Director of Finance - Records donations, manages overall fundraising goals and tracks all expenses. Currently held by Sophie Wijeyeratnam.
Director of Impact - Works with the Regional Directors to plan multi-regional events and assists regional directors in planning their regional event. Currently held by Tiffany Ferrer.
Council Secretary - Takes notes and attendance at all meetings, manages the organization website. Holder of this position is to be determined.
Council Public Relations Officer - Manages the Planet Advocate’s Instagram account and all other socials, focuses on promoting the organization and encouraging the creation of new clubs. Holder of this position is to be determined.
Council Accountability Manager- Communicates with the Regional Directors to set goals, establish deadlines, and ensure that they are holding club presidents accountable for their required events. Holder of this position is to be determined.
Applications
Executive Council Applications open during May every year and are due by June 14th. In order to apply for Executive Council, a student must have a Planet Advocate Club at their school during their term and be involved in leadership in the club. They do not need to be Club President, and can be starting the club the year they apply.
